About

LegalEdge covers a range of exposures faced by small to medium-sized businesses:

  • Public and Products Liability - Claims made for compensation in respect of unexpected or unintended personal injury or property damage arising from business activities.
  • Employers Liability - Claims for damages made by employees in respect of personal injury sustained in the course of employment and not covered, to any extent, by ACC.
  • Statutory Liability - The costs of defending prosecutions brought by regulatory authorities under various Acts of Parliament which may result in criminal conviction, together with cover for financial penalties and/or awards (apart from fines under the Health and Safety Act, which are uninsurable).
  • Crime - Claims including those arising from the employee dishonesty and theft causing direct financial loss to the company.
  • Directors and Officers Liability - Claims made against directors for Wrongful Acts committed whilst carrying out their duties associated with the governance of the company.
  • LawSafe @ Work- Legal costs for an employee to defend proceedings against them which arise in the course of their employment.
  • Liability Consequential Loss – for businesses carrying Public, Statutory or Employers’ liability insurance underwritten by Vero Liability - responds to financial losses suffered by a business resulting from a business interruption caused by a liability insurance claim.
  • Third Party Internet Liability - Claims made for errors or omissions committed or omitted while using the internet for the purpose of the insured’s business.
  • Defence Costs - “Ring fenced” defence costs cover where the cover under other sections of the policy are insufficient or become subject to a charge under Section 9 of the Law Reform Act 1936.
  • Employment Disputes (Optional) - Claims made by employees alleging breaches of employment agreements, Privacy Act or Human Rights Act .
  • Work Care (Optional) – Gives employers the ability to provide early reparation payments to employees (or their estate) in cases of certain workplace injuries or death.
